Flinders University has appointed Mr Shane McGregor to the new position of Vice-President (Strategic Finance and Resources).
Mr McGregor has spent the past eight years at the University of Adelaide as its Chief Financial Officer.
“Mr McGregor’s extensive university experience of high-level management roles and provision of strategic advice to senior management and committees leaves him well placed to take on this new and challenging role with Flinders. This new position will assist the strategic development and management of our resources to enable delivery of Flinders bold vision as articulated in our current Strategic Plan,” said Flinders University’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Michael Barber.
An MBA and qualified accountant, Mr McGregor has also held senior management roles in both public and private sectors, having spent time at Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, the South Australian Asset Management Corporation and the State Bank of South Australia.
Mr McGregor, who will start at Flinders in January, said he was excited by the prospect of taking up the post.
“In the form of its Strategic Plan, Flinders has a blueprint to extend its community involvement and to build on its strong international reputation for teaching and research; I am very much looking forward to contributing to its future achievements,” he said.
