Flinders University today welcomed the release of the State Government’s Darlington Transport Study and the recommendation that a rail link be extended to the University.
Vice-Chancellor, Professor Michael Barber, said the proposed rail link to Flinders would enhance the transport options for future students.
“Flinders University appreciates the opportunity to have been involved in discussions with the State Government on the transport options for this area,” Professor Barber said.
“We welcome and support the provision of a rail link to Flinders because it will add a further option for safe and timely transport to the campus. This initiative will not only be a great benefit for students and staff, it will also strengthen the University’s links with the community and the southern region,” he said.
