Flinders University is looking forward to a significant engagement with the new $125 million Sustainable Industries Education Centre to be built on the former Mitsubishi site at Tonsley Park.
“Flinders University is keen to work with the State Government on this exciting initiative that recognises the important nexus between research, education outcomes and the knowledge economy,” Vice-Chancellor, Professor Michel Barber, said.
“Flinders offers a number of pathways to study areas that will provide the skills and experience required for ‘green careers’ and a sustainable future,” he said.
“The University’s research expertise and strategic location as part of the wider knowledge precinct of Flinders, Tonsley Park and Science Park will also assist Southern Adelaide and the State to collaboratively build its sustainability credentials.
“I congratulate the State Government on this far-sighted initiative that will underpin the development of sustainable industries and we look forward to a significant engagement with the new Centre.”
