Stones roll in to Flinders

Angas & Julia Stone Australian Tour 2018

ARIA award-winning indie pop duo Angus and Julia Stone will turn the Flinders Uni Plaza into a major Adelaide live music venue in 2018.

The popular Australian performers have announced the Flinders campus show as part of their 2018 Australian tour.

The Angus and Julia Stone Flinders gig on Friday 25 May 2018 is part of an exciting new event agency agreement with Five Four Entertainment to promote Flinders University venues to touring artists and their agents.

Pre-sale tickets for the Flinders University concert – the only South Australian concert on the nationwide tour – opened on Friday (24 November 2018) here

Five Four Entertainment is one of Adelaide’s premier music industry agencies, producing and marketing the Adelaide leg of the St Jerome’s Laneway Festival, as well as working with Splendor in the Grass co-founder Paul Piticco to kick-start the Spin Off Festival, which brought major acts such as Lana Del Rey and Passion Pit to Adelaide.

The multi-award winning Plaza redevelopment at Flinders includes a large 21 square metre LED cinema screen and a terraced amphitheatre with combined seated and general admission capacity of 3,000 people.

The extension of the Angus and Julia Stone 2018 Australian tour was made in the midst of the brother and sister duo playing to full houses in the US following a sold-out European and UK tour.

The Australian tour will include metro and regional centres in April and May.

Joining them on the road as special guest is powerhouse Melbourne singer-songwriter Angie McMahon, with her bold vocals and skillful guitar tones.

The Stones’ latest album Snow is the latest in a body of work dating all the way back to 2006 when Angus and Julia first emerged from Sydney’s Northern Beaches with their signature harmonies and ethereal song craft.

Recorded in Angus’ Byron Bay cottage, Snow rocketed straight to number 2 on the ARIA Albums Chart, becoming the duo’s fourth consecutive top 5 album.

The record , released in September, was also hand picked as Triple J’s feature album and has charted worldwide, hitting the top 20 in the US, UK, France, Switzerland and New Zealand.

The latest single Chateau has struck a special chord with audiences around the world, proving a real highlight of their live shows and racking up over 2.5 million video views.

The narrative is played out by leading Australian actors Courtney Eaton, who starred in Mad Max Fury Road, and Dacre Montgomery, who stars as Billy in the Netflix hit series Stranger Things 2.

It continues to grow each week and has cracked the Top 50 ARIA streaming chart (one of only three Australian acts in the chart) and it has now chalked up over 12 million streams worldwide on Spotify alone.
