Sustainable rural communities are vital to Australia’s wider viability in terms of food production and provision of other basic resources, but if rural schools are not properly supported the survival of such communities is at risk.
Preliminary results from a national survey conducted by Flinders show that almost half of Australia’s educational leaders in regional, rural and remote areas are, by their own admission, inexperienced and ill prepared for their roles.
