Flinders University is #1 in Australia for postgraduate employment, according to new government data released by Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching.
Flinders postgraduates continue to enjoy excellent employment with 97% in full-time work after completing their degree.
The 2021 Graduate Outcomes Survey – Longitudinal is completed by graduates of all Australian universities, approximately three years after completion of their studies. It provides benchmark data for comparison of graduate outcomes across institutions and insights into short and medium-term employment and salary outcomes.
Flinders University Vice-Chancellor Professor Colin Stirling says it’s fantastic news for graduates and reflects the work the University has been doing to produce industry-ready graduates.
“I’m delighted to see that Flinders University tops the country for Postgraduate employability but am more pleased about what it means for the 97% of our graduates who are successful in the job market.
“Our nation-leading result demonstrates that a Flinders degree arms graduates with skills relevant to the modern workplace in areas that are well aligned to workforce needs.”
Professor Stirling says a key reason for the strong result is the University-wide commitment to engaging with industry and businesses for a range of courses, which provides students with an advantage in an increasingly competitive job market and embeds employability skills into their learnings from their first year.
“Thanks to our rich range of business and industry partnerships, our students graduate with the hands-on experience that employers are looking for,” Professor Stirling says.
“Flinders University recognises that within adversity there is opportunity and we’ve worked hard to ensure our graduates emerge with exceptional skills, ready to contribute to the workforce despite the disruptions of COVID, so that they can make a difference to the local and national community.”
