Flinders University proved its powerhouse status in Australian screen and media yet again on Friday night, with a raft of wins at the South Australian Screen Awards.

The University saw several top awards taken by alumni and former students at the gala event, which was held at the Mercury Cinema in Adelaide.

Awards included Best Feature, for Hugh Sullivan and The Infinite Man; Best Web Series, for Victoria Cocks and Wastelander Panda: Exile; Best Drama, for Jack Sheridan and Injury Time; Best Performance, for Sean Lahiff and Too Dark; Best Cinematography, for Vivyan Madigan and Wastelander Panda: Exile, Best Composition, for Christopher Larkin and Wastelander Panda: Exile; Best Editing, for Veronica Buhagiar and Little Girl; and Best Sound Design, for Sean Lahiff and Too Dark.

Dr Alison Wotherspoon, Head of Screen and Media at Flinders University, said such a comprehensive showing reinforced Flinders’ position as a state leader in the arts.

“The department of Screen and Media is extremely proud of the large number of Flinders students and graduates recognised in many of the categories in this year’s SASAs,” said Dr Wotherspoon.

Flinders University also sponsored the Short Film Award.
