Cover edition. Yunpeng Zhao, Krasimir Vasilev, Vi Khanh Truong and co-workers introduce a novel method for synthesising silver–gallium (Ag–Ga) nano-amalgamated particles to combat antibiotic-resistant bacterial infections. Utilising gallium liquid metal for the galvanic deposition of silver nanoclusters enhances silver's biocompatibility. Ag–Ga coatings show potent antibacterial activity against pathogens, while also promoting bone matrix formation and reducing inflammation. This strategy holds significant promise for biomedical coatings.
