The protocol begins with Vortex Fluidic Device (VFD) treatment of a mixture of proteinase K and the frozen, then broken-up tissue. The reaction mixture is next processed to remove solids and DNA polymerase inhibitors. The recovered DNA is then purified and concentrated.
